Terms of service

By creating a Varna account or opening a card we delivered, you accept these terms. If you are using Varna on behalf of an organization, you confirm you may accept them for it.

If you do not accept them, do not use the service — and if you have already paid, tell us and we will refund an unused design licence.

A curated catalogue of finished card designs, tools to personalize one without any design work, delivery of a personal invitation link to each guest you list, a single place to see replies, and after the event a private inbox for the photographs and videos your guests send.

Varna is not an event planner, a seating tool, a budget tracker, or a printer. Where the service stops is stated as plainly as what it does, so nothing is sold by implication.

You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live. Sign-in is by one-time code sent to your phone or email, so keeping that phone or mailbox secure is what keeps your account secure.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has reached it.

Buying a design gives you a licence to use it for one event. The design itself — its artwork, typography, motion and code — remains ours or its creator's.

• One licence covers one event, for as many guests as your plan allows.
• You may not resell a design, extract its assets, or use it outside Varna.
• Extras you add — extra guests, additional media, the gift box — are priced separately and shown before you pay.

You choose who to invite and you supply their contact details, which means you are the one who must have a proper reason to hold them. Varna delivers invitations on your instruction and only to the people you list.

Do not use Varna to send marketing, announcements to strangers, or anything a recipient would reasonably call unsolicited. An invitation is for someone you are actually inviting.

While using Varna, you agree not to:

• Upload anything unlawful, hateful, or that you do not have the right to use — including photographs of people who have not agreed to appear.
• Impersonate another person or organization, or misrepresent who is hosting an event.
• Interfere with the service: probing it for weaknesses, scraping it, or overwhelming it.
• Use the gift box for anything other than gifts genuinely intended for the host of that event.

Prices depend on your market and are shown in full, in your currency, before you confirm. Payment is taken at the time of purchase through our payment provider.

A design licence is refundable until the card is launched — the moment invitations start going out is the moment the thing you bought has been delivered. After launch, we will still look at genuine faults on our side and put them right, up to and including a refund.

Where the gift box is available, guests may send a cash gift to the host through our payment provider. Varna does not hold the money as a bank; it is settled to the host through the provider on the provider's schedule, less any stated fee.

We may decline or reverse a gift where fraud is suspected, or where the provider requires us to. A gift is between a guest and a host — we are the mechanism, not a party to it.

Everything you put on a card stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to host it, render it, and show it to the guests you invited. The same is true of what your guests send to your Memory Inbox: it is theirs, and it is shown to you.

The platform itself — the software, the catalogue, the brand — is ours. Nothing here transfers it to you.

We work to keep Varna running and quick, but no online service is uninterrupted. Maintenance, a failure at a provider, or a network problem can all interrupt it, and we make no uptime guarantee.

We may change or retire features. Where a change affects an event you have already paid for, we will not degrade what you bought without telling you and offering a fair remedy.

Varna is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for the event it concerns.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions grant consumers rights that override parts of this section; where they do, those rights win.

You may close your account at any time from settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used to send unsolicited messages, or where we are legally required to.

If we close your account for something other than a breach, we will refund any licence you bought and have not used.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Varna operates, and any dispute goes to the courts there — without prejudice to the consumer protections of the country you live in.

We will post material changes on this page and, where an event of yours is affected, tell you directly. Anything that is unclear is worth asking about; our contact page reaches a person, not a queue.
